Indie Pop
If you haven’t yet heard of SERINITY, you’re about to.
Indie-pop artist Serinity has been called “a beacon of authenticity” by LADYGUNN because of her piercing narratives that capture the hearts and minds of anyone who listens.
A singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and self-described Starbucks addict, Serinity has just released her newest single, “Went To New York.”
"I was inspired by a solo trip to New York City that I took after recovering from a painful breakup,” shares Serinity.
“I wanted to get away and experience something new in my life. But most of all I needed some time with myself. Sometimes, in relationships we get so fixated on being there for others and putting time and effort in a relationship, we often forget about our own needs. I needed a vacation. And when I got home, I realized I didn't need a romantic partner, I just needed myself. So, I decided to start working on myself – physically and mentally - and have never been happier in my life."
“Went To New York” is available on all streaming platforms now.
Born and raised in Sacramento, California and now living just up the road in Roseville, Serinity has been writing and composing music since she was eight years old. Though one might classify her music as Indie-Pop, Serinity transcends genres and has quickly garnered praise from the likes of Earmilk and Rival Magazine.
Drawing influence from artists like Taylor Swift and Alanis Morrisette, Serinity has an impressive ability to take her life experiences and turn them into memorable songs. In under a year, Serinity has racked up hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify. She released her debut single, “You Used Me,” in early 2023. Shortly thereafter, she released the buzzy single “The Way I Love You,” an autobiographical song about her feelings of sadness and regret after a painful breakup.
Serinity is an open book, and she is intent on writing her own story.
“I think I’m most proud of simply having the courage to share my songs with the public,” she admits. “I went for it, regardless of my initial fear of revealing too much of myself and my true emotions. Now, I’m really excited. I can’t wait to share the rest of what I’ve created with as many people as possible.”

‘New York’
Straight from Sacramento, CA, indie pop singer-songwriter Serinity is stepping onto the scene with a fresh sound and plenty of potential. As a new face in the industry, she’s just beginning to make her mark.
Her new song “Went To New York” drops today and explores her reinvention after a west coast break-up. Earlier this week we got to sit with Serinity to talk about the new song and her future in music!

Her latest, “Went To New York” reinvents the breakup song and doubles as a new start for the artist both metaphorically and literally.

BP: Hi Serenity! How are you doing today?
Serinity: Hi, I’m doing fantastic, can’t wait for my new song to come out!
BP: Your new song “Went To New York” is about heartbreak as much as it is about realizations. How did flying across the country change your perspective while going through a breakup?
Serinity: Quite honestly, I was able to focus on myself more and take a break from everything I was experiencing in my life at the time. I set a few goals for myself which were to not think about the heartbreak and keep distracting myself, another goal was to try something new and really push myself out of my boundaries.
BP: Your trip to New York seemed like a healing process. You compared the strangers on the street to someone you used to love because you no longer recognized them. Did returning to CA bring any old feelings back or did you continue to heal?
Serinity: Coming back wasn’t easy right when I returned. I wanted to go back to New York, but I had to face what I initially was running from and that was fear. My feelings never went away but I learned to find the deeper reason within myself on what exactly I was feeling. At that moment I realized what I thought I wanted wasn’t what I wanted after spending the time for myself to heal.
BP: Your previous singles explore different areas of heartbreak; how do you take something so personal and turn it into something you’re able to share with the world?
Serinity: It’s never easy to share something so personal to the world, but I do like to think about the bigger picture which is that hopefully my music about my own experiences with life can help someone else who might be going through similar experiences. That is more important to me when I think of creating my songs.
BP: You’ve gotten hundreds of thousands of listens on streaming services since you released your first single last year. Does knowing people are out there listening put more pressure on you during your song writing process?
Serinity: It can be crazy to think that others are listening to my music since I have been wanting that to happen since I was very young, it’s more pressure but it only helps to push me to work harder on achieving my dreams.
BP: This is your third release. What future plans do you have with your music career?
Serinity: Besides releasing more singles in the future, I would love to put out an album eventually.
BP: Who are some of your inspirations and who do you want to get into the studio with?
Serinity: My inspirations are idols I’ve looked up to since childhood, like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. They helped me realize my dream, and I love their music and relate to them in so many ways.
